Welcome to Googlephone.me. This site was created to mark the launch of the new Google mobile phone and Android Software.  We wil take a look at what it means for the mobile phone industry. Is this new phone going to change the way we use our phones?

We will also look at what exactly this Andoid Software is. We also have a user forum ready for when the G1 is launched this Christmas and let other users answer all your questions.

The Google Phone will not be just one type of phone, it is more about the the platform (Android) that it uses. Different manufacturers like Samsung and LG have already signed up to produce phones next year with Andoid software on.

Anyone with Java programming knowledge will be able to develop applications for the open-source phone platform, which inturn will have a huge impact on the mobile phone industry. Check out Techcrunch's top 10 applications

We aim to create the largest Open-Source download area for Android, outside of Android Market.
